Home construction costs rose 0.8% in the third quarter as tariffs lifted steel prices
Statistics Canada says residential construction costs rose 0.8% in Q3 2026 and 2.7% from a year earlier, with the Québec City CMA and Montréal well ahead of Toronto and Vancouver.
